Moody paintings by Danielle Roberts filled her exhibition Evening All Day at Frederick and Freiser. Roberts work are another wave in the tsunami like trend of contemporary figuration. The paintings are inert, chromatically intense, and contain zoo like specimens that are lonely and disengaged. There is a lot to love about this work formally, but they left me wanting a lot more.
