Sharon Butler posted work from Stephen Maine's recent show at 490 Atlantic Gallery for Two Coats of Paint. Butler writes
Although dubbed "halftone," Maine's new mid-scale paintings are not enlarged photographs, but rather the products of a printmaking process in which he inks up objects like carpeting and then rubs them onto canvas or panels. more
