It was a huge surprise to run into this Kiki Smith show
Path at Galleria Continua in the small walled town of San Gimignano. I was there with my family for a good meal and gelato but my husband spied the sign. The first work we saw was in the garden but when I asked the gallery staff if there was more work they graciously toured us through the three private galleries of her show. Most of the show connected with Smith's exhibition at Pace NYC last winter which also included digital tapestries and stained glass but the sites and the works integration into the medieval town was much better, as were the drawings.
