A survey of thirty-five years of Kerry James Marshall's paintings is a gift and about time.
Mastry is at the
Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. Marshall's life long dedication to questioning who is and who isn't seen in the canon of painting has been without equal. His large scale narrative paintings are on the one hand traditional narrative paintings and on the other a master on the many ways paint can be handled.
