Portals is the title of Njideka Akunyili Crosby's new show at Victoria Miro. Doors and windows serve as points of arrival of departure for her large figurative paintings although it can also refer to our presence, witnessing these intimate domestic moments. Crosby builds her compositions using paint, collage, photo transfers, ink, charcoal and colored pencil. You can see details of her work from a New Museum exhibition that give you a better sense of the surface here.
